Date:  As I thought.... I have to cancel the Picnic. I am very sorry to do so, however with my business trip I would not be able to give this event my all. Or should I say not be able to even be there at all.

I promise Spring 2005 it will be a GO!

Location: Lower Perkiomen Valley Park Valley Forge/Oaks, PA

New Meeting location is ONLY two exits past Valley Forge National Park. It is the same park we met for our First Annual PT Picnic and will also be our Second, Aug 8th.

Purpose: Provide a get together and some pleasant country driving along with a bit of no pressure competition. And not to mention a lot of Fun!!

Start: Contestants meet at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park at 11am. Hang around, show off cars, tell lies, and have a little picnic etc. We will also hold a Mini-PT Show with "People's Choice Award" At 1:00 contestants are off to the Rally... !

Event: Each contestant (a contestant is a car with any number of people) is given a set of photographs and a map of either Chester County or the Valley Forge area. Each photo is a picture of some location depending on what route you decide to take Chester County or the Valley Forge area. From the contents of the photo, e.g., street sign, distance signs, buildings, historic marker, etc. and the map, the location can be determined. Along with each photo is a question about the location, e.g. "What kind of ice cream is sold at..." or "What year did George Washington arrive at Valley Forge?". Naturally the question cannot be answered without driving to the location. Or you may be asked to bring something back with you from the location.

Finish: Back at the Lower Perkiomen Valley Park just off Rt 422 (Oaks Exit) We will stay in the park for our PT Picnic

Scoring: A time limit is set for completion, e.g. 2 hours. The car answering the most correct questions in the least number of miles traveled is the winner. In the case of a tie (very rare), the tie breaker is the least number of minutes. Please note this is not a contest of speed.

Each car can determine its own "shortest" route. People will find themselves on roads they would never have driven on otherwise and see things they would never have ever seen. PTs will pass each other, stop and help each other out.

Bring a Picnic basket...

We have reserved a covered pavilion #2  with tables and grills. This will be a "bring your own food" event. You may also bring a covered dish if you would like to share. If you plan to use the grills do not forget the charcoal.

No alcohol is permitted in the park

Lots of fun for the entire family!

There will be Volleyball nets, Soccer Fields, playground for the children, nature trail along the river, and "Team Games" for those who would like to play! Here are some of the Team Games....for those who do not want to participate in the Rally
Example, a couple get a balloon, and then have to run to a point, blow up the balloon, and figure out how to pop it by using both of their bodies. Ball pass... everyone lines up and passes (single file) and passes the ball back in an under (the legs) over (the head) motion, last person in line (when they get the ball) has to run up to the front and start the pass again. First team that gets through the pass with the first person in the front and back wins. Human Link, egg walk, and lots more. If someone does not want to play, they can sit and watch :-)

We will also have a semi-private parking area.
